Corporate Paralegal

Parr Business Law, an independent law practice in Vancouver, BC, renowned for its focus on various aspects of business and estate planning law, is seeking a talented and detail-oriented individual to join our team full-time as a Corporate Paralegal. This role can either be hybrid or fully remote, and it is open to applicants from all over British Columbia.

Our practice focuses on various aspects of business law, including incorporations, reorganizations, business agreements, M&A transactions, and annual maintenance. We also handle wills, estates, trusts, and estate planning, catering to a diverse clientele in British Columbia.

In addition to providing outstanding legal services, our vision is to become the “go to” educators on estate planning and business law topics in Canada through our unique video and other social media content.

ABOUT YOU:

We're seeking a skilled paralegal with expertise in corporate law. With a degree or diploma in Paralegal Studies and at least one year of experience, you're well-versed in complex transactions and legal tasks. Your adaptability, precision in legal documentation, and effective client interaction make you an invaluable addition. Remote candidates are welcome. 

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Corporate Paralegal at Parr Business Law, you will:

  • Support two corporate lawyers;

  • Work within a motivated, collaborative and caring environment;

  • Incorporate entities, assist with corporate reorganizations and M&A transactions, and prepare first drafts of typical agreements (e.g. shareholders’ agreements)

  • First draft subscription agreements, ESOPs, private placements, options agreements etc. 

  • Oversee and carry out annual maintenance for our 600 companies (with the assistance of an LAA)

  • Manage and organize legal documentation, databases and precedent libraries

  • Support lawyers in various legal and administrative tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • A degree or diploma in Paralegal Studies.

  • Minimum one year of relevant experience.

  • Highly detail oriented. 

  • Proficiency in legal research and document preparation/formatting.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Familiarity with tools such as Google Suite, Slack, Appara, and Clio is a significant asset. If you are not already an expert with Appara, you will need to become one.

Compensation is competitive and will vary based on candidate experience and skill level and will fall within a range of $75,000 - $105,000.
